
Sion Hughes, male, serves as the Academic Head, Vice Dean & Professor at the HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries. He is an experienced international higher education expert, as well as a distinguished scholar-practitioner in art and design, with extensive involvement in the field of international art education.
Sion Hughes holds a Bachelor's degree from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London (1979), a Master's degree from the Royal College of Art (1983), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Brunel University London (1980). Professor Sion has held senior positions at the University of Wales, Sunway University Malaysia, Wrexham Glyndŵr University, and the University for the Creative Arts in the UK. As a practicing artist and designer, his works have been widely exhibited in major galleries in London and Cardiff, including Goldsmiths' Hall and the National Museum of Wales. Many of his works are held in private collections across the UK and internationally, with distinguished private clients including Sir Tom Jones, Bill Kenwright, and John Malkovich.
