INTRODUCTION OF HEBEI UNIVERSITY

Hebei University (HBU) is located in Baoding City, Hebei Province, a famous historical and cultural city in NE China. It is a university jointly founded by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Hebei Province, it is a national first-class university supported by Hebei Province.

Hebei University was originally founded as Tianjin Industrial and Commercial University in 1921, located in Machang Road, Tianjin City. Since then, the school has gone through different changes; from Tianjin Industrial and Commercial College, Private Jingu University, National Jingu University, Tianjin Normal College, and Tianjin Normal University. In 1960, it was named Hebei University by the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. In 1970, it was relocated to Baoding City, Hebei Province. Over the past 100 years, generations of scholars have devoted themselves to teaching and research, and generations of students have worked hard to learn and serve the country. HBU embraces 12 major specialisms including philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, science, engineering, agronomy, medicine, management and art. It has 86 undergraduate programmes, 18 first-level disciplines authorized to offer doctors’ degree, 44 first-level disciplines authorized to offer master’s degrees, 38 professional master's degree programmes, 13 post-doctoral research mobile stations, 1 post-doctoral scientific research workstation. Eight disciplines, including Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Clinical Medicine, Plant and Animal Science, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Agricultural Science, and Environmental Science and Ecology, are in the top 1 per cent of the ESI world rankings.

Currently there are more than 28,000 registered undergraduate students, 12,400 doctoral candidates and postgraduates. HBU has 41 national first-class undergraduate programmes, 21 national first-class undergraduate courses, 3 national ideological and political demonstration courses, 4 national "new engineering", 5 "new liberal arts" programmes, 14 national "Quality Programme" programmes, 12 national "undergraduate teaching programmes". HBU has made great efforts to promote the cultural tourism industry, pharmaceutical industry and modern green industry in Hebei Province, to construct the Yanzhao cultural discipline group, the life science and green development discipline group, and has made significant progress in the protection and development of the Yanzhao culture, the ecological management of the Baiyangdian River Basin and other fields.

With an open mind, HBU has established cooperative ties with over 100 high-level universities across the world and built a complete education system offering bachelor’s, master's and doctoral programmes. HBU has the first non-independent legal entity to host a Sino-foreign cooperative education programme, and has successively hosted 3 Confucius institutes in South America, Asia and Africa.

HBU will insist on the guidance by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implement the fundamental task of building morality and cultivating people, adhere to the ideal of "running the school with quality, talents, services and law", and accelerate HBU’s "double first-class" construction, continuously improve our competencies in talent training, scientific research, social services, cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchange and cooperation, strive to build an internationally renowned high-level comprehensive university with distinctive characteristics as soon as possible.

INTRODUCTION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LANCASHIRE

The University of Lancashire, established in 1828, is an established comprehensive university in the UK, located in the city of Preston, a major northern city in Lancashire, England.

The University of Lancashire has a good reputation, both within the UK as well as internationally, and it consistently performs well in various authoritative rankings: The University is ranked in the top 20% nationally for Engagement with Industry & Public Sector. The Centre for World University Rankings 2025 (CWUR) has placed us in the top 7% of universities worldwide. The University also ranks in the top 10% globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Impact Rankings (2025). It is currently ranked 87th out of 131 institutions in the 2025 Complete University Guide (CUG), a rise of 12 places from the previous year. In the latest National Student Survey, we have risen 14 places to 35th in the sector (UK) for overall student experience.

In terms of discipline development, the University is a sector leading institution in Design, Media, Creative Thinking, Fashion and other fields. The School of Arts & Media at the University offers more than 50 different versions of media specialisms, and its world leading Media Factory is equipped with the very highest level of industry standard professional facilities and digital technologies. These provide students with practice based and applied research opportunities which meet top level industry and sector leading expectations and standards. The university has an envious track record for its commitment to ensure that students are provided with the latest industry standard resources and equipment across all its provision.
