Richard Parkinson is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader at HBU-UCLan, specialising in Film-making and Media production. He holds an MSc in Marketing from the University of Aberdeen, a PGCE in Education from the University of Lancashire, and a BA (Hons) in Film from the University of Lancashire. With over ten years of experience in both education and the creative industries, he combines academic expertise with professional practice as a scriptwriter and producer for film, television, and commercials.
His research focuses on Korean cinema, gender studies, and the application of AI in cinema. Recognized for his teaching excellence, he received the Excellence in Teaching Award from Hannam University in 2014. Currently, he teaches the BA (Hons) Filmmaking and BA (Hons) Media and Television Production programs.
