2025-06-20

On June 20, our school held the opening ceremony for the Animation Industry Internship and Practice Base in the lecture hall of the C5 Teaching Building. Present at the event were Lv Yi, Dean of the school; Fu Hongyan, Vice Dean; Peter Lloyd, Dean of the School of Arts and Media at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan); Sion Hughes, Vice Dean; outstanding graduate Yang Siqi (Gery); and undergraduate students of the school. The ceremony was presided over by Wang Congcong, Teaching and Research Secretary of the school.

Dean Lv Yi emphasized that this cooperation is an important practice in deepening the cultivation of applied talents. She expressed particular pleasure in noting that after graduating from our school, Yang has participated in the production of domestic films such as Ne Zha 2 , successfully founded three animation enterprises, and is soon to pursue further studies at a prestigious overseas institution. Her growth journey vividly illustrates the value of professional dedication and innovative practice, while also setting a benchmark for current students.

Establishing a strategic partnership with Wuhan Zhenqishe Animation Company represents a significant milestone for the college in deepening the integration of industry and education and innovating the talent training model for applied talents. As a rising industry enterprise founded by our outstanding graduate Yang Siqi, this cooperation not only builds a high-quality platform for collaborative education between the college and the enterprise but also creates a new paradigm of "alumni giving back" in education.

As a representative entrepreneurial alumna, Yang shared her growth journey from student to entrepreneur. From hand-drawing classes on campus to participating in film project production, and from being an independent entrepreneur to a business manager, she highlighted that professional foundation and continuous learning are key to breaking through bottlenecks. Addressing students' concerns about career development, she stated that Wuhan Zhenqishe Animation Company will open internship positions and project participation opportunities for students from her alma mater. She expressed hope that more students would establish themselves in the animation industry by building on technical skills and leveraging creativity.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dean Lv Yi and Yang Siqi jointly unveiled the plaque for the Animation Industry Internship and Practice Base of the HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industry.

This cooperation marks an important step for the college in deepening the integration of industry and education and promoting collaborative talent cultivation between the school and enterprises. In the future, both parties will leverage the base platform to conduct comprehensive cooperation in areas such as curriculum development, faculty sharing, and scientific research innovation, aiming to cultivate versatile talents with both professional competence and practical abilities for China's animation industry.
