Isabel Benito Gutiérrez is a Lecturer with extensive qualifications in music, including a PhD in Music Composition from the Royal Northern College of Music (UK), an MA in Classical Music Industry and MRes in Arts (Music Composition) from the University of Liverpool, a PGCE from the University of Huddersfield, a BMus (Hons) in Music Composition from Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya (Spain), and a Professional Degree in Piano Performance from Conservatorio de Musica Ataulfo Argenta (Spain).
As a composer, her works have been performed internationally by renowned ensembles including the Arditti Quartet and RNCM Symphony Orchestra. Her research explores music collaboration and multidisciplinarity, performance spaces, cross-cultural creative practices, and traditional music of Hebei Province. A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she has previously taught at the Royal Northern College of Music and the University of Sheffield. She currently teaches the MA in Music Industry Management and Promotion program.
