HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries 2026 Graduation Ceremony and Dual Degree Conferment Held with Grandeur

On the afternoon of 15 June, the 2026 Graduation Ceremony and Dual Degree Conferment of the HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries was grandly held at the Handan Concert Hall on Qiyi Road Campus. A total of 188 undergraduates and 17 postgraduates from the Class of 2026 successfully completed their studies, embarking on a new journey filled with achievements and aspirations.

Meng Qingyu, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Hebei University; Graham Baldwin, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lancashire; Liu Xiuling, Standing Committee Member of the Hebei University Party Committee and Vice President; Paul Rowe, International Director of University of Lancashire; Peter Lloyd, Dean of the School of Arts and Media attended the ceremony. More than 400 people including the School's leadership team, Chinese and international faculty, graduates, and parents' representatives participated in the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Dean Lv Yi.

Vice Dean Fu Hongyan read out the list of Hebei University Bachelor's and Master's degrees to be conferred in 2026. Liu Xiuling, Standing Committee Member of Hebei University Party Committee and Vice President, presented certificates to each graduating student present, completing the university's degree conferment process.

Meng Qingyu, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Hebei University, presented certificates to each master's graduate present, completing the university's degree conferment process.

Professor Sion Hughes, the School's foreign Academic Head and Vice Dean read out the degree conferral resolution of the University of Lancashire. Peter Lloyd, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Media at the University of Lancashire, presented UCLan degree certificates and conferred UCLan degrees to the graduates, completing the UCLan degree conferment process.

Graham Baldwin, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lancashire, presented UCLan degree certificates and conferred UCLan Master's degrees to master's graduates, completing the UCLan degree conferment process.

To commend outstanding students, set youthful role models, and foster a virtuous academic atmosphere, the attending leaders presented honorary trophies to outstanding graduates from each programme.

At the ceremony, Miao Xinwei spoke as the graduate representative, and Ran Meng spoke as the faculty representative.

Dean Lv Yi sent a message to all graduates, encouraging them to stay true to their original aspirations, develop themselves through self-improvement, remain grateful, be courageous in innovation, continuously deepen their professional expertise throughout life, and pursue their ideals and realise their value with steadfast determination.

Vice-Chancellor Graham Baldwin congratulated all graduates, affirmed their performance during their studies, expressed gratitude to the faculty and staff, and to the parents, and wished the students continued perseverance in exploration and further achievements.

Meng Qingyu, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Hebei University, extended congratulations to all graduates on their successful completion of studies, and expressed thanks to the Chinese and international faculty and staff who have worked diligently over the years, as well as to the parents who have supported their children's education. He encouraged the students to maintain their enterprising spirit, consolidate their professional skills, set long-term goals, stand firm and strive for excellence in their future studies and work, and shoulder the responsibilities of the times with youthful vigour.

As the years pass and new journeys begin each year, all graduates will set sail on the vast voyage of life. We sincerely wish all 2026 graduates of our School a smooth path ahead, resolute steps, worthy of the times and true to their aspirations, and the fulfilment of their unique potential in the boundless world.
