HBU-UCLan Delegation Conduct Study Visit to University of Chinese Academy of Sciences

On April 2, a five-member delegation led by Dean Lv Yi visited the Sino-Danish College and the College of Resources and Environment at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). The delegation included Huang Fan, Deputy Director of the Media Department; Wang Ya, Deputy Director of the Design Department; Full-Time Tutor Cui Yuchen; and Employment Tutor Wang Yajing.

During the Qingming Festival period, to inherit the "Red Gene" and promote the spirit of "Two Bombs, One Satellite" and the spirit of scientists, Dean Lv and the delegation, along with members of the administrative Party group from the College of Resources and Environment led by Party Secretary Wang Jing, visited the "Two Bombs, One Satellite" Memorial Hall at UCAS. All faculty members paid tribute by offering flowers to the 23 recipients of the "Two Bombs, One Satellite" Meritorious Medal, including Deng Jiaxian, Qian Xuesen, and Yu Min, expressing profound remembrance and respect for these heroes who made outstanding contributions to the nation's scientific and technological progress.

On the morning of April 3, Dean Lv's delegation participated in College of Resources and Environment's of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences "Science and art integration · Aesthetic education" seminar, where over 15 experts and scholars from both institutions exchanged best practices in interdisciplinary talent developments, featuring keynote presentations on art education models and cross-disciplinary collaboration experiences.

The seminar also facilitated discussions on various topics, including the current state of aesthetic education awareness among STEM students, participation in extracurricular aesthetic activities, overcoming bottlenecks in guiding students' artistic creation, synergising professional learning with aesthetic education, and mechanisms to amplify the impact of aesthetic education.

Subsequently, an exchange seminar on mutual learning among civilizations in Sino-foreign cooperative education was held. Wang Xin, Student Affairs Supervisor of the Sino-Danish College, and Counselor Wang Guanlin introduced the college's basic information and shared experiences in ideological and political work for international students. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on faculty team building, key challenges in Party construction and ideological education, student employment management and services, and short-term study abroad programs.

This study visit holds significant importance for further enhancing the quality and efficiency of our school's Sino-foreign cooperative education and exploring innovative models that deeply integrate art and technology. It provides new methods and pathways for cultivating more globally competitive, interdisciplinary, and innovative talents.
